50 YEARS OF PUNK - SWAP ME THE YEAR - CALENDAR 2025
€40.00
By purchasing the Swap Me the Year calendar, which will celebrate 50 years of punk, you will become a supporter of the Punk Culture Museum, which will of course be a complete self-grown punk entity. This means that it will receive absolutely no support from the city or the state.
As a result, for its existence, it will need the contribution of everyone who wants Slovenia to finally have a museum that will preserve some of that unbridled energy of the time when punk roamed the streets of our cities and left us with an aftertaste of pure rock and roll pleasure.

Dr. Gorazd Korošec wrote, among other things, in his previously unpublished study for the Anthology of Slovene Punk Poetry, Swap me the Year:
"Punk itself was just a re-emergence of the youthful and society-transforming energy of rock 'n' roll from the fifties, its re-emergence in the early '60s in England with the Beatles and the Stones, and the hippies as a musical and accompanying pacifist and anti-capitalist movement. He built on their foundations, absorbed their energy and developed their ideas further, in a new way.
Punk therefore came as a storm that shook everything, as an outbreak of discontent and critical thought - perceived by the existing political structures as something disturbing, threatening the established course and functioning of society, social "order and peace", as something that it "destroys" society, as a kind of (spiritual and intellectual) disease, as a "plague".
This also makes it very difficult to pinpoint when punk really began, at least on a global scale. There is only a kind of general consensus that next year will be the fiftieth anniversary of his birth, at least in this form, as we knew and recognized it in Slovenia and other republics of the former common country.
The designers wanted to mark this jubilee of the Museum of Punk Culture by paying tribute to this anniversary with the Swap Me the Year calendar, on which there are twelve portraits of various actors of the then Slovenian punk, post punk and new wave scene.
The author of all photos is Jože Suhadolnik, a renowned Slovenian photographer and faithful chronicler of that time.
Next year, i.e. on the anniversary of the birth of Punk, we will open the Museum of Punk Culture in Ljubljana, specifically in Codelli's Chapel in Kodeljevo Castle, where the pioneers of Slovenian and Yugoslav Punk, the legendary Pankrti, played between February and June 1976.
